Okay, dolls can be supercreepy when they're inanimate
and merely staring at you from across a semidarkened
bedroom. Pour a serial killer's deranged soul into one
of those plastic nightmares, and the skin-crawlingness
should go way up, right? But actually, Chucky (the voice
of Brad Dourif: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers)
is way more funny -- in that buckets-of-blood kind of
way -- than scary. And then there are the other, um,
bodily fluids that, er, come into play in this new installment
of the gore-galore annals of Chucky. In a story that
folds and refolds in upon itself rather amusingly, Chucky
and his bride, Tiffany (the voice of Jennifer Tilly:
The Haunted Mansion), are playing themselves in a horror
movie about the "urban legend" of killer dolls,
when they decide to impregnate their human costar --
Jennifer Tilly, playing herself and sending up with
abandon her ditzy-bombshell public persona -- with their
offspring. more..
Bill Clark Review :
Seed Of Chucky is an undeniably bad film. But
it is also the kind of film that I have a hard time
completely lowering the boom on. In my view, there are
two kinds of bad films: Those that know they are bad
and those who take themselves entirely too seriously.
Seed Of Chucky is the former. By now we all know what
we're getting into with a Chucky flick. We have Chucky
himself, the murderous doll that now has five films
under his belt. Then there's Tiffany, Chucky's wife
who also shares his knack for killing. And new to the
series with this film is Glen, the androgenous and confused
offspring.

FilmJerk.com Review [Brian Orndorf] :
After getting the “Child’s Play” franchise
back on track with 1998’s goofy “Bride of
Chucky,” the killer doll falls again to his knees
with the flavorless “Seed of Chucky.” A
prolonged in-joke made expressly for writer/director
Don Mancini and star Jennifer Tilly, “Seed”
is a waste of time and energy, and taps the last remaining
drop of fun from this semi-horror series.
