McCarthy:
With his previous three films, "L.A. Confidential,"
"Wonder Boys""Wonder Boys" and "8
Mile," Curtis HansonCurtis Hanson delivered a bracing
surprise each time out, each one posing so distinctive
and different a challenge. "In Her Shoes"
is different, too, but the surprise this time is that

Weiner. Though the marketing campaign emphasizes Cameron
Diaz’s presence as the ne’er-do-well hottie
Maggie, the character of her frumpy sister Rose -—
as played by the less commercial but more skilled Toni
Collette (“Muriel’s Wedding,” “The
Sixth Sense”) — is the moral center of “In
Her Shoes......More..
