Dimension Pictures has screwed us over a couple of times
lately by cutting the excellent horror flick Darkness
to pieces, making people hate it since the PG-13 version
makes absolutely no sense, by holding onto movies forever
like Mindhunters and Ritual, letting them get released
on DVD abroad many years before they release them in
US theatres and now, they've cut Cursed to PG-13. I'm
smelling a bankruptcy coming. Since they're releasing
Darkness on one uncut and one cut DVD,.

a threshold of mediocrity and can no longer bear the
thought of another piece of Hollywood crap. Typically,
this happens during the dog days of January, February
or August, when movies of quality are scarce and studios
make last-ditch bids to win their lesser releases some

For director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson,
``Cursed'' may extinguish the flame of what once was
a high road. With the ``Scream'' trilogy (1996-2000),
they made the postmodern horror movie more than a one-weekend
wonder for thrill-seeking teens; they reconceived the
genre and made horror movies cool for adults. `Cursed''
probably looked like an opportunity to reclaim their
mantle as horror's reigning masters. Unfortunately,
``Cursed'' arrives nearly dead on arrival.
