Ghosts.spirits.rebirth. Things hitherto beyond the realm
of human understanding - Do these things really
exists? Are they actually what and how they appear
to be? Is a scientific explanation for these eerie
experiences possible? This is precisely what "Naam
Gum Jaayega" endeavors to find out.
The rather mysterious Natasha (Dia Mirza) is
found in an unconscious state on the roads of
Manali by Aryan (Aryan Vaid) and Divya (Divya
Dutta) who work for an organization doing research
in occult sciences. When she regains consciousness
they get to hear her sad and strange story which
totally baffles them.
Natasha claims that she hears voices calling
her from the mountains. She is sure that it
is Vishal (Rakesh Bapat) calling her. She had
met Vishal on a college hike some time back
and both instantly fell in love with each other.
Vishal brought her to his house at the base
of the mountains where she asked him when he
would marry her. His reply that he needed six
months to think about marriage irked her so
much that she walked out of the house telling
him that she would return only after six months
when he had made his decision.
When she returned after six months very late
in the night she was shocked to realize that
Vishal had sold the house to Nalini Sen (Mandira
Bedi), a painter and had gone away without leaving
any trace of his whereabouts. Hearing Natasha's
sad story Nalini yielded to her request of allowing
her to stay there till Vishal came back as she
had nowhere to go.
It was here that strange things began to happen.
Nalini painted a portrait of a fictitious character
named Professor Xeno from a story written by
Natasha. One night this fictitious character
(Sandeep Mehta) actually barged into the house
and controlled Natasha when she was alone and
suddenly vanished when Nalini arrived.
Who was this man? How could he exist? How did
he exactly resemble the portrait painted by
Nalini? Why was Natasha so scared of him? Was
she hallucinating or had she really seen him?
Did Vishal really call her from the mountains?
Why did he not return? Was he alive or dead?
The answers were so strange that they only
raised further questions. Was this a supernatural
case of a departed soul entering another body?
Or was a scientific explanation possible?
