Why
do we have to suffer something so weak as this? Sure
if you like the idea of an Indian Nostradamous all should
be ok, but although a man who can predict the future
such as an accident or someone's death sounds good enough
but watching it is something totally different. So we
begin with the cliché of a young couple Raj (Kapil
Jhaveri) and Kajol (Saloni Aswani) in love in Sun City.
Both are from Mumbai and are enjoying a vacation in
Cape Town. So both are happy as can be and all is well.
Everything changes however just before the interval
in the shape and form of an unkempt man (Salman Khan),
with long hair and shabby clothes. Just as the movies
heroine is about to be involved in an accident he saves
her just in the nick of time. We see him as a saviour,
as a guardian angel, as someone who can foresee the
future and he does just this. Although Kajol has been
saved this strange man tells her that her father will
die at 9pm on the night, this is exactly what happens
and it is then that Kajol begins to have faith in this
man and asks him to predict her own future.
What we then learn is that Kajol is told that she has
until Friday to live and it is in within those two days
that we see attempt to make the most of her life as
possible.
We have two storylines running alongside each other,
one of the girl living her life to the fullest as Nostradamous
has shown her, and the other of a young couple in love
singing and dancing like most other clichéd filmi
couples do.
The attempt at comedy in this movie is weak and is provided
by Johny Lever and Bobby Darling, not funny at all.
It is forced and deliberate at times really pointless.
The director Saawan Kumar has if you had not already
guessed named the movie after himself, but that is about
the only good thing he has done. Forced songs and dances
are the order of the day and are a bit boring after
a while. For a filmmaker who has been responsible for
movies such as 'Souten' and 'Sanam Bewafa' in the past
this really is a poor attempt of a good movie.
Salman Khan is a mess and it shows, just an average
performance from him. The hero, Kapil Jhaveri doesn't
get much scope but is sufficient enough in his role.
Saloni is the heroine and with the film based around
her she is quite good and manages to hold her own quite
well. You might swell forget Johny Lever and Bobby Darling
as their roles are so not funny.
The only people that will watch this movie will most
probably be die hard Salman Khan fans, and as for the
Indian Nostradamous this is one prediction that they
so got wrong! Awful.
