Quoted
to be a 'youthful ride' Manish Sharma's 'Jawani Dawani'
does just that. If you like the usual mix of childish
pranks, double entendres and Celina Jaitley running
around Bikini clad then this certainly is for you.
Also starring Emraan Hashmi as Mann, we see him in the
role of an aspiring singer with his obvious weakness
being women! For Mann he sees nothing wrong in manipulating
and deceiving any woman just to get to the top in his
field.Along comes Radha (Hrishitaa Batt) who just happens
to be the daughter of the owner of the music company.Mann
sees his chance and entangles her in his false game
of love with plenty to sing and dance about of course;
he is almost in there with his ticket to fame.
So as a result of his conquest Mann and friends decide
to celebrate all in Goa, where he meets Roma (Celina
Jaitley) who is enough to make any man weak at the knees
in her provocative outfits and bikinis she puts a spell
on Mann and the two end up in bed together. But an attempt
of adding a twist to the tale is when underworld Don
Chappu Bhai (Mahesh Manjrekar) she Roma the girl he
really likes in bed with Mann and as a result he decides
that the two have to get married.
With the two married, Mann is trapped in this unwanted
marriage and wants out, whereas Roma is quite happy.
Mann doesn't see why he has to trade in his fame just
for the sake of a relationship no matter how nice the
girl.
So the two head for divorce and as they go their own
separate ways, Mann teams up with Radha again and starts
to record his first album. Radha prepares for marriage
with Mann, and as she does so along comes Roma back
into his life! The rest is only too predictable as to
what happens. There are some childish lines, unfunny
dialogues and songs that are unnecessarily placed. Emraan
Hashmi, although he gets the babes around him, he really
does not have flair for comedy.
Celina Jaitley's acting does not go beyond her bikini,
which although for the guys it is wonderful eye-candy
perhaps it does not distract you from the fact on just
how bad this movie really is.Hrishtaa Batt plays her
role as much as it will allow her and is sufficient
enough.A few scenes work here, but 'Jawani Diwani' is
nothing to go out of your way for- you're not missing
much.
