Darna Zaroori Hai Movie
Review
Ram
Gopal Varma is at it again! Following 'Darna Marna Hai'
which you might remember around three years ago, 'Darna
Zaroori Hai' is a mixture of six different horror stories
within the movie. Now although the first movie 'Darna
Marna Hai' had one director solely responsible for the
direction of the movie, this time the difference is
- Six stories six different directors and sets of actors
within each story. So set aside the obvious clichés,
you know the graveyard, the secluded house, the drifter
on the highway and you are left with some interesting
combinations of stories. Not necessarily too scary as
such but more entertaining for the viewer.Breaking down
the six 'scary' stories ( as told by a grandmother to
five other children) the first one begins with actor
Manoj Pahwa. ..More...

Gangster Movie Review
Mahesh
Bhatt's latest offering is the movie 'Gangster' but
don't read too much into the title, it may sound like
a violent criminal film but in actually fact it is a
deep love story which needs to be read between the lines.Although
the only biggish name in this movie is Emraan Hashmi,
don't let it put you off. In fact if anything the Bhatt's
are well known for small budgets and unknown names in
some lead roles (such as 'Kalyug') but they go on the
strength of the script. Which works again in this movie.Simran
(Kangna Ranaut) is all alone living in Seoul , South
Korea. Drinking her time away she seeks solace in her
whisky bottles. One day she comes across a singer in
an Indian restaurant - Aakash (Emraan Hashmi) and the
two form a bond and begin a relationship.Aakash wants
to know why Simran has such a sad life, and one night
she tells all. Through the form of a flashback we learn
of Simran's story..More...

Pyare Mohan Movie Review
Don't
expect too much laughter with this one, just some bland
ordinary comedy the clichéd kind that is forced
rather than genuinely funny. The concept of 'Pyare Mohan'
is relatively new to Hindi cinema, Two guys one Blind
one deaf (Inspired by Hollywood 'See No Evil Hear No
Evil') but the manner in which this subject has been
handled has gone wrong and has not been tactfully dealt
with. Nevertheless the story goes like this. Two best
friends who were originally stunt men on movie sets
are now inseparable. Pyare (Fardeen Khan) is blind while
Mohan (Vivek Oberoi) is deaf. They now both run a gift
shop together, each is the eyes and ears of one another.
However one empty void in their lives is Love. Both
need it both are lacking it. Cupid strikes and the two
happen to meet two sisters Priya (Amrita Rao) and Preeti
(Esha Deol)...More...

Humko Deewana Kar Gaye
Movie Review Don't
expect too much from this latest offering from Filmmaker
Raj Kanwar, because it is laced with usual clichés,
typical mushy lines and some heavy doses of melodrama.Yes
,you may have some nice looking actors in the lead roles,
catchy songs all set in the backdrop of Canada but this
movie lacks a serious amount of character depth to establish
the love story going on.We are introduced to the story
of Aditya (Akshay Kumar) and Jia (Katrina Kaif.)Aditya
(Akshay Kumar) is a talented automobile engineer, he
loves his job and is committed to it. Aditya is engaged
to a stunning girl called Sonia ( Bipasha Basu) who
has the career of a fashion designer. Sonia is a forward
thinking woman and for her, it is her career that is
important first everything else later. With this the
two remain on a different level, with different outlooks. As
it happens the two have other commitments with their
jobs and although the wedding date is fixed..More...

Saawan Movie Review
Why
do we have to suffer something so weak as this? Sure
if you like the idea of an Indian Nostradamous all should
be ok, but although a man who can predict the future
such as an accident or someone's death sounds good enough
but watching it is something totally different. So we
begin with the cliché of a young couple Raj (Kapil
Jhaveri) and Kajol (Saloni Aswani) in love in Sun City.
Both are from Mumbai and are enjoying a vacation in
Cape Town. So both are happy as can be and all is well.
Everything changes however just before the interval
in the shape and form of an unkempt man (Salman Khan),
with long hair and shabby clothes. Just as the movies
heroine is about to be involved in an accident he saves
her just in the nick of time...More...

Banaras a mystic love story
Movie Review A
different movie with mystical qualities, which is not
your typical Bollywood Masala movie. Different in the
way in which it is presented this is shown in a series
of flashbacks, as a dying father wishes to see his estranged
daughter for one last time. Why she is estranged, we
learn as the story progresses.
Shwetambari (Urmilla Matondkar) is the daughter of rich
Brahmin parents (Dimple Kapadia and Raj Babbar) studying
science at the local university in Banaras. While at
university Shwetambari falls in love with Soham (Ashmit
Patel) who teaches music and is also a protégé
of Babaji (Nasseruddin Shah.) One problem, Soham is
a low caste mystic and when their romance is exposed
everything goes out of control. Tempers are flared as
everyone in Banras fly into a rage..More...

Fight Club Movie Review
Vikram
Chopra's 'Fight Club' has a good little mix of actors
starring in it, wit action, comedy and entertainment
thrown in. So as a Sohail Khan production expect plenty
of male testosterone thrown about! The journey of friends
Vicky (Zayed Khan), Karan (Dino Morea), Somil (Ritesh
Deshmukh) and Diku (Aashish Choudhary), are the centre
of the movie as we learn of the incidents that tests
their friendship to the extremes. Then one day Vicky
comes across the concept of 'THE FIGHT CLUB' and all
is set to change. Not just any club this is a club where
grown men can let of steam and settle old scores. It's
fun, it's illegal and it is all underground- different
venues, different times..More...

Holiday
Movie Review Holiday'
is written by Mahesh Bhatt, but it is the second directorial
of Pooja Bhatt who after her movie 'Paap' has decided
to make this very emotional movie about an ordinary
girl who becomes extraordinary. This is the acting debut
of Onjolee Nair (Muskaan) as the nerdy looking, simpleton
who has lack of self- confidence, she finds herself
eventually through dancing. You might remember the cult
1980's movie 'Dirty Dancing' starring Patrick Swayze
and Jennifer Gray, well 'Holiday' simply comes across
as a Bollywood version of this movie, well at least
the basic plot is.Dr.Daksh (Gulshan Grover) and his
wife (Anahita Uberoi) decide to take a holiday in Goa
with their two daughters Muskaan (Onjolee) and Samara
(Nauheed Cyrusi.)..More...

Rang
De Basanti Movie Review
Films
like 'Rang De Basanti' only come around once in a while-
so if anything Do believe the hype! Rakeysh Omprakash
Mehra's movie is not only beautifully shot this movie
is different in the manner in which is presented as
the past and present are juxtaposed together, to express
the views and sentiments of the young children involved,
progressing throughout the movie.'Rang De Basanti' based
around a college campus, we see how an English filmmaker
Sue arrives in India to make a film on Indian revolutionaries
such as Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and the people

Aksar
Movie Review Ananth
Mahadevan is the man who brought us 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar'
and 'Dil Maange More.' comes a movie from a different
genre. 'Aksar' is a movie based around suspense and
unexpected twists but although it tries very hard it
struggles to hold any depth whatsoever.Revolving around
three people this movie shows the many different facets
of how people play mind games with each other.Ricky
(Emraan Hashmi) is photographer who is not only talented
in his field but also in the manner in which he can
take advantage of his models.Ricky is known for his
womanising ways as well as taking out loans which he
can not repay.Along comes a rich NRI business man Raj
(Dino Morea) who is stuck in his marriage and is looking
for a way out so that he can divorce his obsessive and
over controlling wife Sheena ( Udita Goswami.)..More...

Mere
Jeevan Saathi Movie Review
The
much awaited 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' has finally been released,
having been teased with numerous songs and advertisements,
it is anything but a let down.Suneel Darshan's movie
is one that lacks depth and is totally predictable. We've
seen it all before and with traces of 'Fatal Attraction'
and some reminents of 'Aitraaz' this movie seems quite
dated. So, we have Akshay Kumar playing Vicky an aspiring
pop star with high hopes, in love with Anjali ( Amisha
Patel) he is all set to make it to the top.Along comes
his big break via a certain MT Music company as run
by Molani ( Gulshan Grover) and Tolani (Ashish Vidyarth)
who set Vicky up for some musical concerts which sends
his popularity soaring even more..More...

Zinda
Movie Review The
man responsible for movies such as 'Kaante' and 'Musafir'
gives us his latest offering in the form of the movie
'Zinda.' Sanjay Gupta has always leant towards the West
for inspiration in his movie, this time it is the East
he looks to.'Zinda' is heavily inspired by Park Chan-
Wook's Korean classic 'Old boy' (2003) and quite rightly
so because this is Bollywood's taste of Extreme Asia
Cinema and Gupta has played it well.Don't expect a typical
Bollywood movie; this is so not Gupta's style! Expect
fantastic camera angles, a blue hue throughout and a
truly deep and dark sinister movie that is simply visually
appealing..More...

Jawani
Diwani Movie Review
Quoted
to be a 'youthful ride' Manish Sharma's 'Jawani Dawani'
does just that. If you like the usual mix of childish
pranks, double entendres and Celina Jaitley running
around Bikini clad then this certainly is for you. Also
starring Emraan Hashmi as Mann, we see him in the role
of an aspiring singer with his obvious weakness being
women! For Mann he sees nothing wrong in manipulating
and deceiving any woman just to get to the top in his
field.Along comes Radha (Hrishitaa Batt) who just happens
to be the daughter of the owner of the music company.Mann
sees his chance and entangles her in his false game
of love with plenty to sing and dance about of course;
he is almost in there with his ticket to fame.So as
a result of his conquest Mann and friends decide to
celebrate all in Goa..More...

Shikhar
Movie Review 'Shikhar'
is the second movie from director John M. Matthan who
first movie was the 'Sarfarosh', however unfortunately
this time he doesn't quite match up to his debut. The
potential is there as is the background of the characters
however flaws in the screenplay cause it to drag and
become unnecessarily long.In 'Shikhar' we are presented
with two ideologies, we meet Gaurav Gupta- GG (Ajay
Devgan) who as a property tycoon sees nothing but money;
above everything he is hungry with greed and money.
Nothing can come between him and his lust for money
and wealth, he wants to make a new city and he will
lie, cheat and manipulate just to fulfil his dreams...More...

Dosti
Movie Review Here
is another typical over the top clichéd Bollywood
movie that is presented by Suneel Darshan. 'Dosti- Friends
Forever' has nothing new to offer, you have seen it
all before. So as we go into the actual story it is the
story of 'Dosti', two men who become the best of friends.
Karan (Bobby Deol) had it all the wealth, the big house
the security. Raj ( Akshay Kumar) was the opposite he
had a lot of love to give , but had nothing to show
for it. No money no home.Karan was the one who had the
family, yet deep inside he craved loved, still the charmer
and ladies man, it was Raj that had all the love but
needed a family to share it with, yet he was the faithful
one woman man.Yet alongside their differences the two
found peace within their friendship..More...
