'Socha Na Tha' under the banner Vijayta Films, is a refreshing love story set in the present times which launches Abhay Deol (Dharmendra's Nephew) and Apoorva Jha (a Delhi based model who is incidently also being introuced in this movie). The movie happens to be Ayesha Takia's third release (Her first two were Tarzan - The wonder car and Dil Maange More). Abhay and Ayesha play the lead roles in this movie and are cast alongside Apoorva.

In brief, 'Socha na tha' is the story of a boy who runs away to marry the girl who everyone was forcing him to get married to! Strange? yes indeed! Read on for a detailed story-line:

Everyone wants Viren (Abhay Deol) to marry Aditi (Ayesha Takia). Everything matches between them.... caste, family, status, stars but Viren does not want to marry Aditi because he is having an affair with a catholic girl, Karen (Apoorva Jha). He wants to marry Karen and has not told anyone about it. Aditi and Viren decide that Viren will refuse the marriage.

There is a furor in the two families. The refusal causes an ego tiff and severe fights between them.

Meanwhile, Viren continues to court Karen and proposes to her. She agrees. He meets her parents, they too agree. But Viren’s parents disagree of this relationship and cannot come to the fact that how Viren can get married to a catholic?

In the ensuing chaos, he continues to meet Aditi. He bumps into her first, then they plan and meet, and they meet again. There are no strings attached.... they do not have to impress each other. Viren can be himself with Aditi and she can be herself completely. Each time they meet, they think it is the last time they are meeting.

And in a dramatic turn around, Viren realises that he is in love with Aditi.

In another dramatic turn around, Viren’s family agrees to accept Karen as their Daughter-In-Law. Now Viren is trapped in his own plan.
