After
'Aitbaar', 'Footpath', 'Kasoor' and 'Elaan' among other
failures, Vikram Bhatt is coming back with another crime
suspense thriller, a story of love, murder and betrayal.
Will 'Jurm' be another addition to Vikram's long list
of failures? Only time will tell. One thing going in
the movie’s favour is its music. It is only the
third film that was released on Yash Raj Music Label
and one of the songs "Meri chaahaton ka samundar"
has been on the charts for a few weeks now, giving the
feature film extra publicity.
Jurm's story seems to
be typical of any love story where Avinash (Bobby Deol),
a rich businessman, who has the world at his feet and
Sanjana (Lara Dutta) fall in love and get married. On
their wedding night however, the story begins. Sanjana
is murdered and Avinash is arrested for his wife's murder.
Rohit (Milind Soman), Avinash's best friend and legal
attorney fights his case.
As time goes by, Avinash
finds himself more and more trapped in the case. The
only person who stands by him is Soniya (Gul Panag)
who loves Avinash dearly but doesn't have the courage
to reveal her feelings to him. She stands by him but
is more than what she seems to be. What is the truth?
Who killed Sanjana? Was it Avinash? Is Sanjana really
dead? How will Avinash prove his innocence?
The film is slated to
release in mid-February and only time will show whether
Vikram Bhatt finally has a crime-suspense thriller on
his hands, which is a winner. After the failure of 'Elaan',
all hopes are on 'Jurm'.
