Chehraa
will be hitting the theatres near you in mid-February
(18th of Feb). Director Shukla (the famous Kallu Mamu
in 'Satya') has a long list of credentials as an actor,
a writer and now a director. His debut in 'Mudda' didn't
cause any ripples on the box office but in 'Chehraa'
he has Bipasha Basu, who has been on a roll lately.
Not only is Bipasha looking great these days in her
movies but she has also improved her skills a lot. Dino
Morea, Preeti Jhangiani and Irrfan Khan accompany Bipasha.
Rumours were abreast
that 'Chehraa' was just another 'Raaz' in the making.
Even though it belongs to the same genre, it does not
have the same theme. ‘Chehraa’ is a psychological
thriller, where Bipasha is constantly suffering from
the fear of being killed. She thinks someone is out
there to take her life but she doesn't know who or why.
This paranoia drives her crazy.
The film begins in the
medical college where Dino and Bipasha are students.
One day Bipasha disappears and meets Dino again after
five years, married to Irrfan Khan who plays a billionaire
in the film. Who is after Bipasha and why? To find that
out, you should definitely check it out.
Chehraa was shot in
Dubai, Pune and Mumbai and it might be an interesting
option but faced with 'Jurm' and the Abhay Deol-Ayesha
Takia's 'Socha Na Tha', one wonders if Dino and Bipasha
will be able to hold it on their own. Irrfan Khan's
addition to the film makes it a little heavier on the
scale and considering what he is capable of...well only
the box office will tell.
