She attended St Anthony's Girl's convent in Chembur
and then went to Podar College. She was the captain
of the baseball team. She also has a black belt in

mystery, Baazigar with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The
film was a huge hit. Audiences were shocked when her

Tu Anari. The song "Churake Dil Mera..."
established her in the industry and made her a star.
This was followed by many average films and roles.

acclaimed hit in 2004 with Phir Milenge. Her wonderful
performance as an AIDS victim silenced her critics
and established her credability as an actress.
She is one of the most veratile and
flexible dancers we have in the Indian cinema. She
has a perfect body with seductive expressions. According
to this critic the best role for shilpa can be in
a newer and enhanced version of Kamasutra, where as
a sex instructor she guides her students in various
poses. But the director has to be a real talent to
do complete justice to her hot and juicy body.
She starred with her sister in the
film, Fareb one hell of a damp squib.
She has been nominated three times
