Patricia Arquette (born on April 8, 1968 in Chicago,
Illinois) is an American film actress.
Private life
Arquette is of Jewish and distant French descent. She
is the daughter of the late actor Lewis Arquette, and
granddaughter of the late comic Cliff Arquette. She
is sister to the actors Rosanna Arquette, David Arquette,
and Alexis Arquette. She is the sister-in-law of Courteney
Cox Arquette, who is married to her brother David.
She was married to Academy Award-winning
actor Nicolas Cage from 1995 until 2001. She and fellow
actor Thomas Jane are the parents of a baby girl named
Harlow Olivia Calliope, born February 20, 2003.
Career
At the age of eighteen she got her start in showbiz
in 1986's Pretty Smart. A year later, she gained attention
for her starring role in A Nightmare on Elm Street
3: Dream Warriors, often considered the best film
of the Nightmare series. In 1989. Soon after, her
career took off, and she has since appeared in such
critically acclaimed movies as True Romance, Beyond
Rangoon, Ethan Frome, Lost Highway, and Flirting with
Disaster.
She won a CableACE Award in 1991 for
her portrayal of a deaf epileptic in Wildflower. In
1997, after her mother died of breast cancer, Patricia
took the lead in the fight against the disease. She's
run in the annual Race for the Cure and in 1999 was
the Lee National Denim Day spokesperson. She won an
Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2005 for
her role as the psychic Allison DuBois on NBC's Medium.
